These extra, extra small (
approx. marble to ping-pong ball
size, see the quarter) river rocks are from an area of metamorphic and igneous geology in central Idaho.  Translation:  they're very colorful!
The photos are of the actual stones you will receive.
In the first pic the rocks are wet; the way they would look in an aquarium or water feature.  The 2nd shot is after they dried (somewhat), as they would look in a dry arrangement or landscaping.  I get on my knees and carefully select these from a river gravel bar.  They are
not treated in any way.  And check out my store for the other river stone lots I have listed, including flat, smooth rocks for rock painting.
By the way, the lot numbers (lot 1, 2, 3 etc.) do not indicate quality, just the order in which I gathered the rocks and a way to tell the boxes apart when filled. And approximately 30 pounds is the most of this size rock that I can fit in a USPS medium flat rate box.  Packed tightly with lots of reinforcing tape around the box.
