A nicely painted serving bowl shaped like a shell in the pattern "Nove Rose," from Blue Ridge / Southern Potteries. This pattern features brightly colored pink roses and flowers, yellow tulips, and a blue dot and dash pattern around the rim. It measures 9 inches long by 8.5 inches wide, and sits 1.75 inches high at the rim.
This vintage piece of Blue Ridge China is in fair to good condition. It makes a great display, but when you pick it up, you can see several chips and cracks on the foot ring (not structural, or that keeps the bowl from sitting firmly on a table top). There are no visible chips or cracks on surface, but there is very light crazing in the center of the bowl, which has slightly browned from age (see closeup photo with red arrows, hard to see the crazing).
The bottom has a script mark for "Blue Ridge China | Hand Painted | Underglaze | Southern Potteries | Made in U.S.A."
